Face Covering Mandate in Effect/Municipal Office Open

The mandated use of face coverings in the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s (Health Unit) region is now in effect. Face coverings must be worn in ‘enclosed public spaces’. This means indoor spaces of businesses, organizations, and services accessed by the public, including public transportation. Face coverings should also be worn in other spaces (indoor or outdoor) where physical distancing is challenging or not possible.

Information about the mandate can be found at www.myhealthunit.ca/facecoverings or for specific questions individual can call the Health Unit at 1-800-563-2808 option 5. The directive falls under the provisions of the province’s Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act

The Village Municipal Office is now open again to the public during regular office hours; Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Fridays 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Face coverings are mandatory and other protocols are posted on the door. Residents are encouraged where possible to continue using online payments, the drop box, phone and email to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

On behalf of Mayor and Council, thank you for your cooperation, patience, and assistance in keeping South River safe.
